The team at Road Trauma Support WA would like to congratulate our ambassador, Mark Daniels (pictured on right) on completing the HBF Run for a Reason for the fourth time. This year saw Mark complete the run on his blade for the first time alongside HBF Ambassador Brant Garvey.
Mark has been a source of inspiration across Australia in the years since he was seriously injured in a road crash just outside Mandurah in 2015, ultimately resulting in the loss of his right leg.
The Royal Australian Navy Marine Technician has fought back from depression and thoughts of suicide to turn his life around, returning to work and taking on a series of physical challenges that those with two legs would struggle to complete.
While he is now balancing a full time career with the navy alongside his many competitive challenges, not to mention horse riding, wake boarding and climbing mountains, Mark goes out of his way whenever he can to promote road safety.
Although his injuries – the result of inattention by a distracted driver – have changed the direction of his life forever he has refused to let his physical limitations get in the way of living an amazing life.
Mark will head to Sydney in October this year to mingle with royalty and compete in the 2018 Invictus Games alongside other current and former service men and women from 18 different nations. We wish him the very best of luck!
