Injury Matters supports local road safety initiative

Injury Matters | November 21, 2017

The Injury Matters team showed their support for the Roadwise ‘Road Ribbon for Road Safety Campaign’ this week by donning the campaign’s trademark grey ribbons and pledging to drive safely during the critical Christmas and holiday period.

Road Trauma Support is delivered by Injury Matters with funding from the Road Trauma Trust Account and management via the WA Road Safety Commission.

The campaign is a grass roots, community based campaign that allows individuals to become directly involved in the promotion of road safety during what is traditionally one of the deadliest periods on WA roads.

Road Ribbon for Road Safety was launched locally on the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims on Sunday, 19 November and will run across WA until Friday January 5.

The campaign has been designed to align with WA’s road Towards Zero road safety strategy which covers the years from 2008 to 2020 and urges people to take extra care and promote road safety during the festive season.

The Roadwise program was launched in WA in 1994 and works with local governments and the broader community to promote road safety initiatives and campaigns across WA.

If you would like to be involved in the campaign or to find out more head to the Roadwise website.
