The Shine a Light on Road Safety campaign for 2017 will coincide with the Fourth United Nations Global Road Safety Week to be held from the 8-14 May 2017.
The campaign aims to raise awareness, to stop deaths and injuries on our roads and to help raise funds to support those impacted by road trauma: #shinealightonroadsafety
ABOUT SHINE A LIGHT ON ROAD SAFETY
There are a number of different ways you can help support the campaign in 2017
- Ask all road users to turn on their headlights on Friday 12 May as a simple, free and highly visible gesture, to remember those impacted by road trauma and show your commitment to road safety
- Look out for and share your pictures of the Illuminations in yellow of key icons throughout the city from Monday 8 to Sunday 14 May
We all use our roads to move around and connect with other people. Let’s work as a community to keep everyone safe. Together we can all shine a very bright light on road safety during this week and show how important it is to us as individuals as a community as organisations and across all levels of government.
The campaign is supported by key road safety agencies including WA Police and the WA Road Safety Commission
